Xiaomi under threat of sanctions

A few years ago, the Americans imposed serious restrictions on Huawei, after which the Chinese giant had to incur huge losses, curtail sales in some countries, and abandon Google services and the Android operating system. Later, Huawei decided to sell its subsidiary Honor.

The British edition of the Financial Times issued news that the Chinese company Xiaomi was under the threat of US sanctions for expanding cooperation with Russia. After the departure of the American Apple from the Russian market, sales of Chinese smartphones in Russia increased by 300%. U.S. Commerce Department official Kevin Wolf said Chinese companies “cannot legally supply products to Russia.” Note that the “wishes” of the Americans today are not a decree for China, so the company is likely to continue to supply its products to Russia.
