The European Patent Office has published a list of 11 brands indicating the number of patent applications filed by them in 2021. HUAWEI leads by a fairly noticeable margin.
It is noted that HUAWEI beat Samsung in this field for the first time, submitting 3544 applications. The Korean company filed only 3439 patent applications.
Next comes LG, which retains its position. But compared to the leaders, the number of applications from it is almost 1000 less – 2422 pieces.
In total, the patent office registered 188600 patents, which is an increase of 4.5% compared to the previous year. At the same time, the telecom sector shows great growth – 8.2%, and medicine – 8.1%. Computer technologies – 7.8%, electronic technical equipment – 6.4%.

As a result, by the end of 2021, the company had accumulated more than 45,000 active patents around the world.
