The Sony IMX800 is a recently announced camera sensor that is expected to debut shortly. It represents a huge technical step forward compared to previous Sony sensors and could become a major one for future Xiaomi devices.
The Sony IMX800 has better low-light performance, faster autofocus, and improved image stabilization. If the Company decides to use it in its new Xiaomi 12 Ultra device, it will make an impression!
The world’s largest sensor for mobile cameras – Sony IMX800
The sensor has a much larger size than the previous ones – 1/1.1″ and a resolution of 50MP. Such dimensions make it the largest among smartphone cameras. It will be larger than Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2 if you remember that it was used in the Xiaomi 11 Ultra device.
The size of the sensor determines how much light the camera receives to create an image. The amount of light the sensor receives yields better images. Larger optics capture more light, receive more information and create better and clearer images.
