Samsung considered using sub-screen fingerprint sensors in the upcoming foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 but abandoned the idea. This is written by the publication Business Korea.
Earlier, Western media reported that Samsung will switch to sub-screen fingerprints, relying on the registration of the relevant patent in the World Intellectual Property Organization.
But Samsung considered that this position of the sensors will be inconvenient for users. The scanner will remain at the end along with the power button, writes Business Korea. The publication also recalled that the release of new products is expected in the third quarter of this year.
In February, the Korean site The Elec wrote that the diagonals of the displays galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will remain the same, but the reliability of the design of the new Fold will increase. But whether the letter Z will remain in the names, is unclear: earlier Samsung removed this designation from the naming of previous products for some markets.
