WhatsApp is expected to introduce a Premium subscription for the Business app for some time now, and at the first Meta Conversations event, the messaging platform officially received it. In addition, The WhatsApp Business app has many new features that make it easier for all types of businesses to work. Here’s everything you need to know.
WhatsApp Business Premium and other updates
A premium service is an enterprise subscription model that allows you to access multiple exclusive features for a fee. New features include the ability to use a business account on up to 10 devices so the brand can further expand its presence. This feature is said to be in development, as indicated in a previous WABetaInfo report. This is in addition to the existing multi-device feature, which allows you to add up to 4 devices.
This also includes the ability to create customizable WhatsApp chat links for businesses to attract more customers. Again, this was recently spotted by WABetaInfo. Proper domain names will be preceded by “wa.me/” and can be changed every 90 days. Businesses can come with links and check if they are available for use.
WhatsApp also has a new cloud API that will provide all businesses and developers with free and secure cloud hosting services for easy access to WhatsApp features. WhatsApp says the new API will help them “embed directly on top of WhatsApp to customize their experience and increase response times for their customers.”

Meta also introduced recurring notifications in Facebook Messenger. This allows business accounts to re-engage people in the message flow and send them personalized messages. They can also choose the type of content to send. This functionality will also appear on Instagram this fall.
While periodic notifications will initially be a free feature, they will eventually become part of the Premium subscription model. WhatsApp also charges companies for sending messages through the WhatsApp Business API. All of these new features join the existing Business Suite, paid click advertising, and more.
WhatsApp also reports that more than a billion people “exchange messages with businesses weekly” through WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram DM. So, what do you think of these new WhatsApp Business features? Let us know in the comments below.
