Redmi Note 11 SE was launched as a surprise: does it remind you of anyone?

Xiaomi’s May 24 event brought us a lot of news: Redmi’s new 11T Pro Notes range, the 4/4 Pro Kidney Active Noise Cancelling TWS headphones, and even the long-awaited Group 7. As if that wasn’t enough, the Chinese company also released the original Redmi Note 11 SE: has such a smartphone never been seen yet? As always, rebranding is just around the corner, and in this case, even double!

Redmi Note 11 SE: everything you need to know

Design and display

Redmi Note 11 SE

Looking at the appearance of the Redmi Note 11 SE, it is impossible not to come up with another model: we are talking about the POCO M3 Pro 5G, the device launched in our latitudes last year. The design is reminiscent of the mid-range POCO, but the specifications largely depend on the device (also known as the Redmi Note 10 5G). In short, the 11 SE model is a rebranding of the rebranding but intended for the Chinese market. Therefore, we have a terminal measuring 161.81 x 75.34 x 8.92 mm with a weight of 190 grams, equipped with a screen. DA 6.5″ Full HD+ LCD display with button hole and 90Hz refresh rate with AdaptiveSync technology. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side.

Specifications

Addressing different specifications, the redmi Note 11 SE is therefore driven by MediaTek’s Dimension 700, an eight-core with 7nm process technology with a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with a frequency of 950 MHz. With 4/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, the battery is a capacious unit from 5,000 mah rechargeable 18W via Type-C. There’s also support for dual 5G SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, BT 5.1 and GPS L1. A real shame about the software, namely MIUI 12 on Android 11.

Compared to the POCO M3 Pro 5G (and Note 10 5G), the newcomer loses the sensor: so we have a dual-camera from 48 + 2 MP, and the second module is dedicated to a depth of field. Frontally, inside the central photo, there is a selfie camera from 8 MP.

Redmi Note 11 SE – Price and availability

The “new” Redmi Note 11 SE debuted in China — and is likely to remain a model designed for that market — at 999 yuan (approx. 140€) for version 4/128 GB. Instead, the main option is offered from 8/128 GB at 1.299 yuan, approximately 182€ at the current exchange rate.
