Xiaomi 12 Ultra with SoC Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 should be launched on July 5

It is reported that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be launched on July 5. The tech company is expected to unveil the smartphone on June 28. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced this week that the Chinese tech giant is preparing to launch the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The phone on the SoC in July is believed to have been the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Earlier this month, key features of the smartphone leaked, including that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

According to a recent report according to Hong Kong-based technology media platform Tech Going, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will launch on July 5 alongside the Asus ROG 6 series smartphones. It is also reported that the Chinese company will begin to release official teasers of Xiaomi 12 Ultra on June 28 in China. Interestingly, the report adds that they received information from a tipster without a good reputation, so there’s a chance that this leak could also be false.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, recently announced that in July the company will release a phone based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This phone is expected to be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, although the company has not officially revealed the name of the future smartphone.

As mentioned earlier, some key specs of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra leaked earlier this month. The smartphone is said to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. An earlier leak suggested that the phone would feature a 6.6-inch curved 2K AMOLED display (1440×3200 pixels) with a 20:9 aspect ratio, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 1700 nits.

Recall that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC combined with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal UFS 3.1 memory.

For optics, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to offer a triple rear camera with a 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is said to feature a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. There may be another time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and laser autofocus. It is expected that for selfies and video calls, the smartphone from Xiaomi will be equipped with a 20-megapixel front camera. Another report earlier this month also hinted that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could be the first smartphone with the iconic red logo of German camera maker Leica.

It is expected that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be equipped with a battery capacity of 4800 mAh with support for wired charging with a capacity of 67 watts and wireless charging with a capacity of 50 watts. The report for February of this year indicated that the phone will receive a battery capacity of 4860 mAh with fast charging of 120 watts. It is assumed that the phone will run Android 12 “out of the box” and will receive a setup with two speakers.
