For one of the oldest and most popular Android launchers Nova Launcher, a major update to version 8.0 has been released. So far, it is available in the form of a beta, but everyone can already try it out. One of the main innovations was the support of Material You with the adaptation of the interface to the wallpaper installed on the working screen.

Nova Launcher 8.0 is built based on Launcher3 from Android 12L and includes fixes for correct operation on devices running Android 13. Changes in the interface are not as much as in the seventh version released last year, but still, they are there. For example, the developers have added support for Material You, so that the colour palette of the entire interface adapts to the installed wallpaper. In particular, on the main screen, the colour of the search bar and the background of folders change.

In Nova Launcher 8.0 there was a completely redesigned settings menu, outwardly reminiscent of what can be found in smartphones from Google. By the way, colours from wallpaper are also used here. Other changes include new gestures on the desktop and the ability to align to the bottom edge for immersive folders.
Nova Launcher users can upgrade to Beta 8.0 through the app’s settings. You can download the APK file for installing the launcher from the official website.
